We were approached by the well-loved pub, Hootananny's Inverness, to help with the conversion of the upper two floors of their historic B-listed Georgian building into seven unique, colourful hotel rooms. Hootananny's is a long-established part of the Scottish live-music scene and really the beating heart of traditional music in Inverness, and following our works it is now possible to stay there too. Although the building has been heavily adapted over the years, the upstairs rooms retain Georgian architectural details and are now beautiful holiday suites which are open for business.
In addition to designing new hotel rooms and ensuites in previously open-plan areas, we carried out a full retrofit with new double-glazed timber sash windows and air-source-heat pumps for central heating. Every room is unique and characterful thanks to incredible interior design by Isobel Barnes, captured by Stephanie Osmond.
